Local Vermont Craft Breweries
Tour and Taste Our Favorite Breweries and Taverns
Small State, Big Beer…that’s how the the Vermont Brewer’s Association describes us, and they’re right. The craft beer movement is exploding in Vermont. We have over 40 breweries – the highest number per capita of any other state. From The Alchemist to Hill Farmstead, Lawson’s to Fiddlehead; Vermont craft beers are winning awards and attracting beer lovers from all over the country. At the Inn we always have local craft beers on tap for our guests, but we also wanted to share a few of our favorite nearby breweries and taverns where you can tour and taste.
In Manchester we have The Crooked Ram. In Bennington you can visit the new Northshire Brewery, the Tap House at Catamount Glass, and Madison’s Brewing Company. A short trip over to Hoosick Falls, New York and you’ll find Brown’s Brewing in the beautifully renovated Walloomsac Tap Room which overlooks the Walloomsac River. Though it’s not a brewery, a visit to the Man of Kent Tavern in Hoosick Falls is also worth a trip. They offer 16 beers on tap and a selection of over 130 bottled beers.
Because we happen to be right near the New York state border, not all of our recommendations are in Vermont, but we can guarantee you’ll love these craft beer destinations no matter which one you try. Or better yet, why not make it a self guided beer tour and go to them all!
