We know when you think of Vermont you imagine green mountains, cows, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, fall foliage, craft beer, hiking, cycling and lots of other wholesome, outdoor stuff…but you may not know that the West Mountain Inn is also near “5th Avenue in the Mountains”. For those of you who enjoy a little shopping therapy, a short drive to the lovely village of Manchester, Vermont will bring you to over 40 designer outlet stores along with some great independently owned shops. From Armani to Ann Taylor, Coach, J. Crew, the Gap, Marrimeko and Ralph Lauren – it really is like a walk down 5th avenue, except you are in a quaint Vermont village. And, unlike shopping at designer stores in New York City, you can walk away with some serious deals. For locally owned shops (and we highly recommend you explore these too!) there are lots of special independently owned shops like the Northshire Bookstore, the Orvis Flagship Store, Depot 62, or the Mountain Goat.
